• When we meet someone new, we usually form a first impression within a few seconds. That’s because the brain has to judge quickly whether the other person is safe. And once a first impression has formed, it is hard to change. So when you meet someone for the first time, it’s best to arrive on time and to greet them first.
• A young man went to a big company for an interview, feeling very nervous. He stepped into the lift, saw there was nobody else in it, and practised his answers out loud. The more he said, the more confident he became, and the louder he got. But when the lift doors opened, the people waiting outside all applauded him.

一座城市能正常运转，靠的是各行各业的人。清晨，工人们已经把街道打扫干净；深夜，还有人在送最后一个包裹。这些工作也许很少有人注意，可是假如有一天它们都停下来，城市马上就会乱起来。由此可见，职业的社会地位也许不同，但没有高低之分，每一份工作都很重要。作为普通人，我们能做的，就是尊重每一个认真工作的人，也认真对待自己的工作。
