questions & answers

Is it really free?

Yes. Every day, the audio and the two practice exams are free, with no sign-up and no ads.

How long does it take?

72 days of about 25 minutes: 62 days of new words and grammar, eight review missions and two practice exams. The days stay open, so go at your own speed.

Does it match the TOPIK I exam?

It follows level 2. TOPIK I is one test for levels 1 and 2: listening (30 questions) and reading (40 questions), 200 points, level 1 from 80 points and level 2 from 140. There is no separate level-2 paper, so this course ends with two full TOPIK I mocks. Our list is level 2 of the National Institute of Korean Language’s standard curriculum (1,100 words, 45 grammar points), the reference list for Korean courses. This is not official TOPIK material: check topik.go.kr for the current format before you book.

Do I need to do TOPIK 1 first?

It builds on our TOPIK 1 course: every level-1 word and grammar point is used from day 1 without being taught again, and the same friends are back as Anna returns to Seoul for a year. If you already know about 750 everyday words, you can start here.

What is the romanisation under the words?

A reading help in the Revised Romanization of Korean, the official system in Korea. It follows how a word sounds. At this level, try switching it off and reading the Hangul: the exam has none.
