questions & answers

Is this really free?

Yes. Every lesson, story, exam and PDF is free, with no sign-up and no ads.

Which HSK 6 is this?

The new HSK 6 from the 2025 syllabus (HSK 3.0, published November 2025): all 1,800 new words of level 6 and its 50 grammar points. It builds on HSK 1 to 5, so every text also uses their words. It is not official HSK material.

How long does it take?

About 40 minutes a day for 90 days: 76 learning days of up to 25 words, 12 story missions that review each unit, and 2 practice exams. Every day is split into short bites, so you can stop between any two.

Do the practice exams match the real HSK 6?

They copy the layout of the official 2025 sample paper: listening, reading, writing and the speaking test, with a practical piece of 150 characters and an opinion essay of 300. The new HSK has not published its pass marks yet, so our 60% pass mark is only a guide.

How are the words written, read and heard?

In simplified characters with Hanyu Pinyin and tone marks: each word with its dictionary tones, and sentences with the spoken tone changes of 一 and 不. The 150 characters the syllabus lists for handwriting at level 6 come with stroke-order animations. About three words in four (1364 of 1,800) have a native-speaker recording; the others are read by your device’s own voice.
